Photovoltaic system

Our PV system generates 97,230 kWh of electricity per year, which has allowed us to avoid 224 tonnes of CO2.

Electric mobility

Our guests can charge their electric car free of charge in our hotel car park, and there are two further EV charging stations in the underground car park of our Leo Apartments Miesbach. E-bike batteries can be charged in the underground car park.

Room cleaning

As standard, guest rooms are cleaned every two days. This lets us save electricity and water and protect the environment. Our guests decide whether they would like daily service.

Miesbacher Oberland, a region of fine food

We source much of the food we use from regional growers and producers.

DEHOGA environmental check

We are proud to have received the Gold environmental award in the DEHOGA environmental check. By introducing innovative measures to reduce our ecological footprint, we have been able to optimise our operations. From the use of regional products to energy-efficient technologies, our hotel follows a holistic strategy that takes both guests and the environment into account.

It is a step towards a more sustainable future in tourism – a future in which environmental protection and hospitality go hand in hand.

Our history

What began as the vision of two entrepreneurs is today a versatile place for overnight stays, meetings, events and sport. The most important milestones of the Bayerischer Hof Miesbach.

1991Laying the foundations

An idea becomes reality: Alois Apfelböck and Wilhelm E. Pichler realise their vision of a modern conference and sports hotel in Miesbach. In August, ground is broken for the Bayerischer Hof Miesbach.

1992–1993The first guests

After a construction period of just 17 months, the Bayerischer Hof welcomes its first guests in December 1992. With 134 rooms, generous meeting areas and restaurants, a 4-star hotel is created that aims to be far more than a place to stay from the very start. The hotel officially opens in May 1993.

1999The EVENTSCHEUNE Wallenburg

With the historic barn on the nearby BioGut Wallenburg organic estate, the Bayerischer Hof adds an extraordinary event venue to what it offers. To this day, the EVENTSCHEUNE Wallenburg provides a special setting for weddings and corporate events.

2001More space for encounters

Due to growing demand, the hotel is extended. Around 400 m² of additional meeting space and the restaurant Das Schlierach strengthen the Bayerischer Hof as a conference and event hotel.

2006Hotel and sport grow together

The owner families acquire the neighbouring 5,000 m² Miesbach sports and fitness park. Sport thus becomes a fixed part of the hotel concept – from individual training options to training camps for professional teams.

2007Internationally connected, privately run

Through its cooperation with Best Western, the Bayerischer Hof gains international visibility. As the Best Western Premier Bayerischer Hof Miesbach, the hotel remains privately run and firmly rooted in the region.

2020The Leo Apartments

With 32 furnished apartments, a new option for longer stays in Miesbach is created. Regional sourcing and sustainability are at the heart of the build – including regional timber and a resource-saving energy supply.

2024Sustainably into the future

A new heating plant supplies the hotel and sports park entirely with regional forest wood chips and replaces the previous gas heating. This is expected to save around 400 tonnes of CO₂ a year – an important step towards a more sustainable future.

TodayRooted in the region. Open to new ideas.

For more than three decades, the Bayerischer Hof Miesbach has continued to evolve. What has remained is its private management, its close ties to the region and the aim of offering our guests a place where hospitality, encounters, fine food and sport come together.
